First you need to decided what size aquarium is suitable for you and your budget
There are three types of reef aquariums,
the plug and play aquarium,
the standard aquarium
and the custom aquarium.

Lets start with the plug and play aquarium. cost $-$$
Just like with a computer a plug and play aquarium is ready to go from the beginning.
You don't have to worry about what equipment you need. The tank is pre-assembled and ready to go.

The standard aquarium. cost $$
the standard aquarium has to be thought out and assembled. You have many stock options for cabinetry, filtration and lighting. these tanks can be as small or very large.

the custom aquarium,cost. $$$
This tank requires the most pre planning and thought. however you imagination and vision is your only limit,
many types of shapes and integrated designed aquariums can be made.
